Transportation at BSRU
BSRU promotes sustainable transportation practices to support a greener and more environmentally friendly campus. The university encourages the use of bicycles, electric vehicles (EVs), and shared transportation systems to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve mobility, and enhance campus sustainability. Transportation data is continuously monitored to support future planning and the development of sustainable transport initiatives within the university.

Parking Areas at BSRU
BSRU provides organized parking facilities to support the daily transportation needs of students, staff, and visitors. Parking areas for both cars and motorcycles are strategically located throughout the campus to ensure accessibility, safety, and efficient traffic management. The university also aims to balance transportation convenience with sustainable campus planning, with parking areas accounting for only 3.26% of the total university space.

Since 2023, BSRU has implemented transportation and parking management policies to improve traffic flow, optimize parking utilization, and support sustainable transportation practices on campus. The university continues to promote responsible vehicle use through controlled parking access, registration systems, and parking regulations for students and staff.

Sustainable Transportation Initiatives
BSRU has implemented several transportation initiatives to decrease the use of private vehicles on campus and promote more sustainable mobility practices. These initiatives include controlled parking access systems, encouragement of public transportation use during major university events, free campus shuttle services, and carpooling campaigns. Through these measures, the university aims to reduce traffic congestion, improve parking efficiency, lower environmental impacts, and encourage environmentally responsible transportation behaviors among students, staff, and visitors.

Encouraging public transportation: In its ongoing commitment to sustainability and addressing the challenge of limited parking, BSRU has taken an initiative to reduce car usage during the upcoming Royal Graduation Ceremony. Encouraging all attendees to opt for public bus transportation, the university underscores its concern for environmental conservation and convenience. With insufficient parking spaces available, this initiative not only eases congestion and parking-related issues but also aligns with BSRU’s goal of promoting eco-friendly transportation for its community. |

Free shuttle transportation within campus: While the campus may be compact, shuttle services can still enhance convenience and encourage sustainable transportation practices. By providing a free and accessible means of getting around, students and staff may choose the shuttle over personal vehicles, leading to a more efficient and eco-friendly transportation system. |

Carpooling Campaign During live events organized by the university, BSRU is making sure to promote activities such as carpooling, or use of public transportation in order to minimize the number of private cars. BSRU’s initiative to promote carpooling and public transportation during live events is a commendable step towards sustainability. It not only reduces traffic congestion and carbon emissions but also encourages the community to adopt more eco-friendly habits. Highlighting this practice can serve as a model for other institutions aiming to reduce their environmental impact during events. |
Pedestrian Policy
BSRU promotes a pedestrian-friendly campus environment through policies that prioritize safety, accessibility, and convenient mobility for students, staff, and visitors. The university has developed an extensive network of sidewalks and zebra crossings throughout the campus to support safe walking and improve road safety. In addition, ramps and accessible pathways are provided to accommodate individuals with physical disabilities, reflecting BSRU’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable campus transportation.
